How do I create an account?
You can sign up using email, Apple, or Google. If you prefer, you can browse channels as a guest, although guests cannot send messages.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to Settings → Delete Account. When you delete your account, your profile is removed and your previous messages remain in channels but are anonymized.
Why was my message blocked or hidden?
Messages may be blocked if they violate community guidelines. Messages that receive significantly more downvotes than upvotes may also be automatically hidden, though users can still tap to view them.
Why can’t I see nearby channels?
Ensure you’ve granted PlaceChat permission to access your location while using the app. Without location access, nearby places and channels cannot be shown.
How do I report inappropriate content?
If in-app reporting is available, please use that. Otherwise, email us at support@placechat.app with screenshots or details.
3. Troubleshooting
The app is not loading properly
Try force-closing the app and reopening it.
I can’t log in
Check your internet connection, then try signing out and signing back in.
No channels appear on the map
Make sure location permissions are enabled in your device settings. Apple Maps POIs determine which places appear inside the app.
Messages won’t send
You may have hit the rate limit. PlaceChat uses message rate limiting to reduce spam. Try again in a few moments.
